It has been legal here for a few years and the whole country didn't fall into an amoral pit of despair, despite the whining of the (thankfully small) Christian contingent, always hell-bent on pushing their ridiculous opinions on everyone else.

Ok... well... let's see how this commerce can be taxed...

I got it...!! The government entity sells a "pass" that the provider must accept as payment in full and turn into the government to collect the fee...
Of course TIPS are reasonable and dependent on the service and 'environmental' aspects of the event procured... But at least Government can insure revenue inflow under my plan... hehehehehheeh
Or liberalize the marriage/divorce laws with high fees for each... heheheheheh

That's freaking great. You obviously hate Christians but you live in ChristChurch.

I'm all for legalizing prostitution. It's not going to change who goes to prostitutes.
Legalizes it, tax it and move on.
As George Carlin put it. Selling is legal, fucking is legal. Why isn't selling fucking legal?

Nasty but it should be legal. What you do with your body is your biz and that extends to drugs, fast food, and gaping hole between legs.

I believe a person owns their own body. By definition, if you own something you should be able to sell it. Period.

Sure you can regulate the how and who things are sold to (such as uranium) but I would really love to see Congress pass a law on WHO a woman can sell her ass to. Men "leagally" buy ass every damn day, almost everyone here has paid for ass in one way or another (I said everyone once and evidently I replied to an evangelic boyscout or something). Hell, you could damn near call it gambling right now because that is often what it is at first.

I work with a married guy who buys his wife jewelery to get a BJ. WTF is the difference other than the fact that they know each other rather well? Do hoes just need to switch to some sort of non-cash payment structure and it would be perfectly legit or are my co-worker and his wife violating the prostitution laws?

not my kinda thing, but I never understood the legal impetuous behind making prostitution illegal.

the worst of it (drugs, child prostitution, etc) will likely continue regardless of the profession's legality, but legalization would help regulate the rest of it.

Pretty easy to figure out... Start with your local bible. The rest just falls into place.

Free health care... Hmmm, maybe I can get a doctor to write out a prescription! :D

Wait at least 30 days, the decision isn't immediate. :D

I bet after the provincial and federal government go through the expected pretend bluster about protecting family values they'll set up a new section in our health departments that are responsible for licensing. For "safety reasons", of course.

It's kind of surreal to watch Canada - really, the entire world - move towards greater individual freedoms. Swinger clubs have been in operation in Toronto and Montreal for some years now, and now this. Seems like drug policies will be the last to give way.

Swinger clubs have been in operation throughout the US and Canada for years. Nothing new there.

All you guys that are happy about it, realize, that the everyday hooker is nasty. The hookers you see on TV are not the ones you'll see on the streets.
Doing ride alongs with the cops is an eye opening and sometimes disgusting experience.

You obviously have never been to Montreal. Do a google maps search for escorts in the city and hit the second link. Also the strip clubs there are a thing of legends.
