Check it out here..

It's out of stock right now, but as you know with Amazon - it can pop in and out anytime, so you might want to keep an eye on it!

I'm just grasping for straws with all of the failed bigscreen tv deals... I want one!!!

If you look at the description, it says "Shipping weight: 1.0 pounds.", so probably not very much... maybe 3 or 4 bucks.

Just a note to any that are actually interested, ProScan is basically a higher-end RCA. However, their support and customer service aren't upgraded to cater to the customers that buy higher end products.

A few years back I bought one of their super flat TV's and found that when they placed the TV in the box they had the manual in standing up, so it (the manual) was crushed beyond functional.

I called, thinking they'd just send one out my way and they wanted $30 (or something like that) for a new manual. I was like "I just spent $1800 on a TV and you're telling me, that even though you mispacked something, it's now my responsibility?" I was flabbergasted... I must have spoke to about six people that day going up the chain to managers of managers of supervisors... I just gave up and decided never to buy ProScan again...

I wrote a letter to the Pres of Thomson (parent co.) letting them know what a joke their customer service was. About 8 months later, I opened my mail one day to find a manual.... lol....

I believe the shipping cost is free (right now anyway)... if you check their other bigscreens, they all say that theres some special shipping promotion going on where they're waiving the standard $99 that it would normally cost. The delivery also includes unpacking and crate disposal - not just tailgate drop-off like many of the others out there.

Be thankful that this is OOS. You would have been very, very sorry.
Proscan/RCA/GE are all the same. Same junk that is.
Sure there may be a few rare buyers that actually get a year out if one of these before it fails,
but for most buyers, this garbage will break within the first year. 90 day warranty by the way.

But I really shouldn't rant.
Too many foolish people ignore this advice, (same advice as Consumer Reports, avoid these TV"s),
and buy garbage anyway. To all of those people, Thanks! Your bad luck is my gain, as repairing these
sets provides me with 50% of my income, which then enables me too take advantage of the "Real" hot
deals that appear here.

BTW, if this 50" was $500, I would still say run away from it FAST.
Only if it dropped to it's real value of around $300 would this then be an OK deal.
It honestly is a TV that will only last a year or two. Check out complaints and lawsuits.
Thompson Consumer Electronics (TCE) equals dud.

RobsTv -

Thanks for the tip... do you have any web links that rate projection tvs by model #? I've been considering used, but I can't really find any substantial info on these except for CR which only has the most recent years models...
