Alright I guess I'll have to look into it again. It says on their website...:
1DIRECTV Whole-Home DVR service requires a DIRECTV Plus HD DVR, Advanced Receiver Service fee ($20/mo.) and Whole-Home-enabled

But their website isn't the best to get information.

I got a new TV, asked them what to do in terms of hooking what box up to what TV -did exactly what they said to do - and it didn't work - their solution was to send someone out to my place - for a $75 fee.

Uhh, I'm not sure if you're serious. Who has trouble installing a video input box?

Old people. My inlaws paid $100 for Dish Network to come out and plug in an HDMI cable. They thought it was the greatest thing too.

"What ever he did, the picture looks great!"

When I looked at Dish a year back its technology was 1930s type stuff. DirecTV has, AFAIK, the very best technology solution for multiple HD DVR across the house, so if you have multiple TVs and need HD on them and DVR I think DirecTV is still the best. I know for sure it beats Time Warner.

I'm trying to find out if Dish Network offers AMC channel or not. On this page (http://www.qprism.com/dish-channel-list) they say they offer AMC, but I have seen on some sites that they don't offer the channel anymore. If they don't offer AMC anymore, that is one reason to get Directv definitely. no Mad Men or Walking Dead?
