pros and cons of the ROTC

and while I'm reading stuff at the armyrotc.com site, can someone fill me in on it also in case I miss anything?
 
Dive in if you want it, I've never met an ROTC guy on my college campus that was actually going anywhere with it. THe guys that actually enlist get something out of it at least, but not the ROTC.

mmm see those enlisted guys? guess who they're gonna be saluting even if they've been in the service 30 years? yep...those first year college grads from the ROTC. Oh yeah...they'll pay for ur tuition (not housing) so it benefits people who go to private schools a little more than public ones. But yeah u have to give up 4 years of ur life right outta college which could be a bummer for some.

Uh...they all start out at 2nd liutenants or Ensigns (depending on what service u are...all the same rank just different name). It's 13 weeks of pure hell...vs. 4 years of one day a week thingy, which ain't that bad IMO.
