It can totally be done. Have basically a southern coastal rim of land that connects the east and west coasts and link the great-lakes area. The southern coastal rim would have a few red areas but not many (mostly as it runs through LA and georgia and parts of FL). Most of the southern areas of texas and az are blue already.

It can be done but honestly it would absolutely devastate the complaining red states because 2/3rds of the US GDP comes from blue areas as it stands. Even more so don't forget that the majority of people today live in cities which are mostly in blue areas. NY city alone has 2x people than Arkansas, montana, idaho, wyoming combined.

So sure if they want to be even poorer and behind technologically and have less impact on the world then sure let's split into two.

Where would California get water from?

Certainly you can't in your wildest nightmares imagine nearly half of your fellow beings as less than "decent?" Is this how far we've fallen? Shall we sharpen our knives and count our ammunition? If I want to choose the inclusive side, how, by your words, would I know which one that is?

Well, the truth is that the election of Trump was a giant Screw You! to the rest of America. There's no decency in that nor in the corrosive attitudes of too many conservatives about a lot of things. Being a dick seems to be a fashion craze on the Right.

Blue states would have enough money saved up for universal healthcare, flying cars, and floating cities considering we wouldn't have to subsidize dumbass redstates anymore :p

Lol. Splitting the country in two doesn't mean they wouldn't participate in trade and etc. Its more a matter of one side being tired of being governed by the other.

Filth and stupidity is a prerequisite to supporting Trump. Yes, I believe whatever his numbers honestly work out to be, that's how many of them there are tainting the country/planet.

Choose whatever you like. If it's decency, awesome. If it's cruelty and corruption then you've chosen poorly.

I read somewhere that California has a bill in the works in the legislative that would vote on making the state secede from the nation. If California voters agree in a 2/3 majority; then the nation has to vote on that too. Some legislators are saying that the U.S. has no say if California voters have a majority; they would secede no matter what happens into their own country.

Maybe. I might offer an alternative interpretation, but that would involve mentioning someone who is a terrible sore spot here. My occasional voice here is like a struggling swimmer caught in a riptide. I didn't like Trump, nor you-know-who. But what I like even less is the ever deeper divisions that separate us. No matter who had won, one side would have been equally estranged, which is I guess the new normal, but it's just more toxic each cycle. I hope our kids don't have to fight a war over it. That's where the premise of this thread leads.

That's what you are offering. Agree with you, or be called names. I probably don't agree with you. Am I then automatically stupid filth to you?

I need to know, because I am expending a significant amount of resources in the name of this website.

And Trump would be the stick poking his side in any case. He is a Plague who is keeping his base in a despicable hate frenzy and he is feeding them in a way that should never have happened. Encouraging them has been the worst thing for America. The struggles were real enough and difficult enough without hate being given a louder voice.

Actually, it's Trump's opponents who are in the biggest, ridiculous, prolonged, tantrum-like hate frenzy, as far as I can see. Trump supporters are very often smug and/or dumb, but it's his haters that are the most unhinged group that I've ever have the displeasure to witness, and I've witnessed quite a bit in a half-century.

Get over it.

I'm clear on what I'm saying. You decide for yourself what I'd likely think of you. Sure, decency is in the eye of the beholder. If your beliefs lead to hurting people, segregating people, holding people down, discriminating against people, not giving a shit about people, allows people to be gunned down because of 2A rights, controlling who gets healthcare and an education, controlling who gets to eat... You are not a decent human being... You are also stupid.

But you're a hate both sides equally kind of dude so we're through here. I'm not likely to be even marginally interested in having further conversation with you.

Really? How pathetic. Yet, probably for the best, because you have nothing to say to me or think about me that isn't just a script you've unwittingly learned to regurgitate on demand. This is how enemies are made, categorize, demonize, neutralize, euthanize.

Even though you know about .0001% about me. Kinda scary, really.

I got no skin in this game 'cuz I'm stuck out here on this rock in the middle of the whole Pacific Ocean so you guys divvy up all you want and I'll pull up my trusty beach chair, stock up the cooler with the green bottles, dock it next to me and spectate over the carnage.

Aloooooooohaaa! :D

What do his ‘haters’ do that is so unhinged, specifically?

Some, like you, articulate your opposition in a well thought out, reasonable and intelligent manner.

The rest flail around like petulant children with their cry wolf alarmism.

As in the story, sometimes there is really a wolf. This is one of those times.

I'm all for California seccession. All government subsidies would be cut off. That would effect a large percentage of the EBT users / abusers and pretty much kill section 8 housed baby makers. California would soon be in a huge fiscal crisis. Let's try this idea. I like it.
