Question Proper sources for reviews, technical informations.

Hello,

I'd like to properly point my kids at school to proper sources for technical information about hardware (mainly, mainstream software too) like CPU, GPU, PSU, main board reviews etc.

I'm a bit disconnected to all this. I also hate YouTube reviews but the kids will probably like those.

What sources would you recommend ?
I wanna be sure I point them to a good direction.

Thank you.

The question is how deep?

For overclocking on youtube I personally think SkatterBencher is a great resource with great focus on all the necessary technical details and without any of the useless entertainment and drama fluff all the other videos tend to be infected with. But it's also very hardcore, so something for kids with interest in hardware at an advanced state.

Anandtech.com (past articles are great, like how the flash cells in SSDs work)

Arstechnica.com (geared more towards the general audience so language is not that technical and kids would understand it better)

Notebookcheck is also nice for reviews and for comparing the performance of CPUs and GPUs.

Tweaktown.com (hate their site layout but the reviews are ok)

https://www.pcguide.com/ (generic site. may have useful stuff)

Review roundups on videocardz.com are great for new product launches. Sometimes you learn about new benchmarking methods, insights and software from lesser known sites that way.

CPU - Gamers Nexus, HUB / Techspot, TechPowerup, https://skatterbencher.com/ for the methodical approach to understanding each platform he's about to OC. Skatterbencher has information about modern CPUs/BIOS configs that one may otherwise dig weeks to find out in forums in reviews.
Motherboards - HUB, Actually Hardcore Overclocking + I'd like some more of these too please! 🙂
PSU - Hardware Busters - https://hwbusters.com (alternative to their YT channel already mentioned above), sometimes I type http://jonnyguru.com/ to check if I can travel through time but I get this nasty https://www.corsair.com/ redirect 🙁
SSD - StorageReview + Tom's Hardware, now I also consult https://www.techpowerup.com/ssd-specs/ because it's an easy way to gauge the hardware, avoid drives with many hardware changes etc.
Cases - Hardware Canucks, Gamers Nexus, optimum
Monitors - RTings, HUB / Monitors Unboxed, techless, optimum

YouTubers like techless and optimum are worth for their specific interest in monitors or cases/cooling, they complement more technical reviews. KitGuru of the old guard deserves a mention, I don't seek them out for a category but will open reviews if they pop up for a specific product. Techtesters is also a decent allround channel, good if you lack coverage from the more technical ones.

These come from the top of my head, I probably managed to mention about half of the ones I consider worthy of attention though.
