Proper order and BIOS for MOBO

Im looking at Asus website and have a couple of questions

1) What is the current updated bios number i see there is a 1007 but whats confusing me is for the os it says dos(not windows xp)
2) When updating the bios when i get a new cpu and mobo is the order
1) starting with erased hard drive do i need to update the bios first with the updater floppy and new bios. then reboot and adjust settings ie first boot, clock etc etc then load windows xp

1: The Dos one means you gotta use a dos boot disk to boot first, then run the bios updater which you should have on another disk.

2: If you mean what is the order, install the cpu onto the mobo then update bios, or as soon as you can.

3: You'll probably need to boot up with your new cpu and mobo to go into the bios in order to set the first boot device; which should be floppy. Then use the dos boot disk and after it's loaded, put in your bios disk and run the updater.

Hope this helps.
