proof that CoreTemp 0.96.1 is defective.

I just thought of something. If the TJmax of an M0 step chip were 85C, then if I hit 85C, I should be throttling, right?

But I'm running my E2140 M0 @ 3.2Ghz at 85C, and no throttling. Therefore the TJmax MUST be 100C, as CoreTemp 0.96 correctly points out.

So, let's all e-mail coretemp's author, and get him to RE-fix this bug. Either that, or to continue to post 0.96 for download.

0.96 is wrong for me. I get 85C on 0.96; which even at 1.5075v we know there is no way it's doing this with a TR Ultra 120 cooler that blows straight to my back fan (also 120MM) which blows out.

How does it compare to what the BIOS reports? Sitting in the BIOS actually heats the CPU nicely.

Aye; BIOS seems to report what Speedfan reports; which is 15C below 0.96. 0.96.1 is correct for me; even though it's a 100C chip we think and not 85.

Actually who knows. Bottom of the line I never hit 73.2C in the most strenuous day to day use (gaming); which is the max Intel says it's ok to go, so I'm not worried.
