Proof of inventory? Are they kidding?

got home today to a nice email from paypal that my account had been locked due to 'Recent account activity has made it necessary for us to collect additional verification information.' Fooking wonderful.

So, has anyone had their account locked by paypal due to transactions from selling parts of a computer?

And...

How the hell are you supposed to fax them 'proof of inventory' of your parts?? Have the people you sold them to take pictures of it for PayPal?

I get emails all the time about my account being locked. They're all faked of course.

except this time, it isnt. i just had to have paypal make an automated phone call to my house in order to prove my billing address was correct...

Me too... as well as emails confirming that I addedd a new email address to my account, which ihave not touched in months.

forward to spoof@paypal.com ...i get a response within 24 hours, every time.

im glad i didnt have any money in the account. going to write them now to determine what i need to do in order to provide 'proof of inventory'

so, instead of answering my valid question, they simply sent me a cookie cutter response, the same they would to anyone else who has had their account access limited for one reason or another. theyre just pissed i dont have a premier account on which they can charge me.

One of my friends uses eBay fairly frequently, and has a credit card & a savings account both associated with his Paypal account. He recently bought several things on eBay. For some reason, his credit card was marked as 'declined' for each and every one of the transactions, and failed back to his savings account (which he wasn't expecting... so it drained it). He drove down to the bank that issued his credit card & that has his savings account... they told him that the transaction log did not reflect that Paypal had even attempted to use the credit card for the transactions that they should have.

He's e-mailed them repeatedly, but keeps getting their cookie-cutter SPAM response, rather than anything useful.

sounds like the norm from PP. i'd call them, but i dont think itd solve anything. id be way too wound up. ill just fax them the crap they want and hopefully be done with it.
