Proof Leather shoes are a better investment!

i use pretty much exclusively leather shoes nowadays. why? because, they last so much longer than other types. now, a typical shoe bought from a name brand company, lets say, Vans, starts at about 50-60. now, i buy Rockports, from Macy's (or any rockport dealer), for about 90 dollars. but the kicker is that they last me 3-4 times as long as any other types of shoes. literally. the leather will only get more comfortable, the other shoes, the fabric will wear through. leather wont. also, the leather will grow and stretch with you. leather shoes are good for growing kids. it's proven. they are more cost effective in the long run, because they last so long. and lastly, they are so much more comfortable. i encourage all of you to try leather next time you want shoes.

you are going to use up your "new thread quota" for the milenium if you keep going at this rate.

Yes, leather is good, but you have to take care of them...my Kenneth's are in relatively good condition, but the sole's are wearing down...hopefully they'll redo them for me, since Nordstrom/KC should be good like that.

I just got some Diesel shoes. I used some wax on them. I figured I might as well after spending a day on my car.

I may paint some of my own stripes on it.

i was talking about teens... like 14-18 and up you they can buy their own. but leather is still the best investment.

the last 6 pairs of shoes i've owned have been leather. all rockports. they're darn comfy!

I love leather.

Even my Doc Martens I have had for, oh I dunno, bought them Christmas of 1996 and I still wear them.

I splurged and bought some Johnston & Murphy leather dress shoes for like $170 and they are more comfortable then all of the Nikes I have every worn.

I just got a pair of leather shoes (well, actually my brother gave them to me - they're practically new, though) - is there stuff I should look out for/any other things in taking care fo them?

Polish?

Pick up some conditioner and leather *cream*.

Oh, and stay away from those all-in-one quik-shine products.
