My buddy who works there told me it's a shortening of pegasus. So, I guess that means you should pronounce it like pegasus without the peg. Its taiwanese name is totally different but I forget what it is right now.

ASUS is named after the Greek god SUS(pronounced "SOOS"), the third cousin of Zeus.

In ancient Greek mythology, SUS is the god of motherboards.

You'll find a lot of Mythological names in modern times.

Ay-soos sounds like Jesus.. I say A-suhs because it sounds better. There's no reason to say ay-soos because it's not a word. In Engish, U happens to be pronounced "uh" not "ooo".

Jee, and here, I've been mispronouncing words such as brute, tube, or lube.

i used to say "ay-sus".... i found out after calling tech support for their pos product that it's actually "ay-soos"

I always pronounced it "A sus" but I called the rma guy and he said welcome to "a SOOS" rma.

because those indians can't pronounce a sus. 😀

rma is done by chinese people, not indians. The pc industry is predominately taiwanese.
