pronounciation of the word 'duty'

Americans at my region say "do-dee". Nevertheless, I'll never lower myself to pronounce that word that way. I remember my teacher always saying "heavy-do-dee". I could take the pronunciation of "t" as "d", but I can't take a complete destruction of a word. It's "dyu-ty". I wouldn't pronounce "due" as "do" either. It's "dyu", as far as I'm concerned.

I'm from GA...guess what? I can't say doo-dee, dew-tee, or do-dee differently--when pronouncing them, they all come out the same word unless I force a space between the syllables and make it two words.

Actually, due can be du or dyu, and do is du, so there is nothing wrong with pronouncing do and due the same way.
And duty is 'du-tE, not 'dyu-tE.

And to add to the lameness of this thread, for no good reason :):

I agree. I can't stand people saying "due" as "do" and it's even worse when they spell it "d-o".
