Yes, it could have been the perfect poll question with binary choices, but I was hoping everyone was going to agree early...I guess this is up-in-the-air. I call it "vee-ya".
VIA is not short for a few words, it's just VIA(Vee-ya). However, ALi is short for a few words(Acer Labs Inc) but we still call it Ah-Li, and SiS(Silicon Integrated Systems), we still call it sis.
I have been to several conventions like a few others that have replied in this thread. It is typically pronounced vee-uh, or I have heard vee-ya. You can pronounce it any way you like though, I don't mind.
Im still wondering if VIA stands for something, perhaps originally an oriental word. I went to the website and decided to send an email to the US Contact for VIA. He may or not respond. But I guess it is a matter of preference.
Just like the word FNMA. Its short for the Federal National Mortgage Association, but people call it FannieMae. Oh well.

well in that case it should be pronounced "wee-ah"
Paul - VIA (spelled all caps) is not an abbreviation, it's just the name of
the company. Implies 'way' and therefore, 'connectivity'. Pronounced
'vee-ah'.
