Promise Rings

Was I the only one who thought of the "Promise Ring" that many Christian girls wear as a symbol of their promise to wait until marriage? I support those kinds.

As for the other, well, one of my friends has had at least two promise rings of the "pre-engagement" variety from guys she's no longer interested in. I think that says it all right there.

Well, I got my grrl a promise ring only because I can't really afford a decent engagement ring yet and it made her happy. I consider myself engaged although I haven't actually formally proposed but there is no doubt what the answer would be. 🙂

I never looked highly on the promise ring deal until this so I can understand the negative but if you want to show your grrl she is yours until you can afford a proper ring I recommend it.

I gave one to my (now) Fiance when I was 20 and she was 18... she wanted something - and I was in no position in any way - especially financially to buy her a real engagement ring... we were both too young at the time anyway for that... so it was a cute, cheap way for her to show her friends and everyone else that she was taken... 🙂

It made her happy, looked great on her and only cost me about $200.00 so why not! If it puts a smile on her face for months on end while she patiently waits for the big one - I'm all for it.

Exactly, and now I am looking at buying a cheap engagement ring. Luckily I have a friend in the biz but it's still gonna cost more than I can afford. 🙁

I've already told my grrl I will buy her a freaky rock once I am established and making mad bank. By that time I can afford a large flawless diamond and perhaps I can persuade her to put it towards another house, lol.

I find diamonds to be a very difficult investment and very few come out on top except the diamond dealers. 😉

What??? How old are you??? Mad Bank??? Freaky rock?....What adult talks like that?....

Well....my plan backfired.

I bought one of these on the October Zales coupon. The deal was about $150 fro a extremely small diamond ring. She loved it and asked what it meant....I told her it was a token of my affection, yada yada....

Now, she's been saying. I want a REAL ring now. So.....the moral of the story is....don't get a promise ring unless you're prepared to get a real one. 😀

So you want to buy a ring in promise that you'll buy another ring that is to promise that you'll get married. Yea, sounds brilliant to me. Maybe you could get a promise, promise ring.
