Promise Rings

I think its silly. its a promise ring to get you an engagement ring to get you a wedding ring. How long will it be before there is a "pre-promise ring" or how about the "promise-promise" ring. Seriously, if you are in a relationship and marriage is something you are considering then you need to get an engagement ring, not some promise ring because you are too young or whatever.

I personally don't see the point in them. They're sweet and sentimental and all, but they're just not logical. It's promising that later you'll promise something, and it's expensive. *shrug* I wouldn't do it.

If you're gonna get jewelry for a girl, just get it. If you're gonna get engaged, get engaged. Don't mix the two up into some halfway "promise" thing.

Waste of cash. It means absolutely nothing in reality.

Then again, women don't live in reality.

who cares? whatever floats your boat. it wouldn't mean anything to me- if the relationship means something, i dont need a stupid ring- if it doesnt, its just a piece of metal. if it makes her happy, though, it doesnt hurt anything.

promise ring = i promise to love you forever (in my opinion)

what is the difference between that and an engagement ring if you actually mean it? If you actually 100% believe that you will love this person forever then it's time to be ENGAGED, not promised or however you state it.
