I just installed a fresh copy of WinXP. But right before it starts, I get a screen saying there are problems with the file consistency on my drives connected to the Promise Ultra 100TX2 controller card and that it will run checkdisk in 10 seconds (hit any key to cancel).
I cancel it because I remember last time this happened when I installed a fresh copy of WinXP, I lost ALL my data on those drives and could not recover them even with utility programs.
I downloaded the WinXP driver for the controller card and forced windows to use it even though it wasn't digitally signed, but the problem hasn't gone away.
I'm afraid one of these days I'm gonna restart my computer and forget about that and lose all my data! What am I to do??
