promise ata133 controller and xp- reinstall?

hi
i am buying a promise ata133 controller card and am wondering if i will need to reinstall the os or if i can just hook it up with the new drivers without any problems. i have a msi 648 Max-L MB and will have dual boot 2000 pro and xp pro on the hard drive.

any help would be appreciated,

No, you shouldn't have to reinstall WinXP. Just make sure you install the WinXP drivers first before connecting any drives to the Promise controller.

Done it several times, install the card, load drivers under XP, swith off, hook up cable, done.
