Despite all efforts! I cannot get it to recognise that I have hard disks.

"Setup could not find any hard disks connected..."

I've tried the miniport driver (the F6 patch job), and that still fails.

I dunno what else to try!
 
so is this a pci card or a built on to your a7v.

I have a asus a7a and for some reason my motherboard would not detect my maxtor 20gb hard drive for nothing. Even now i have it on a promise card. I called asus, which is long distance, and waited for about 15mins b4 someone came on and said its simple. Its a compatibility issue.

Anyway I have updated my bios to the newest one and my maxtor still doesnt work.
But my ibm 60gxp 40gig does fine.
 
Install everything while connected to ata66 ide, then upgrade ti 4 in1 32. With everything working
properly, shut down, change cable back to ata100. Boot and set bios to boot ata100 first. All should
work without errors and you should be able to install anything comp/win2000 sp2. Been there and done that...
