Prometeia Vapor Cooling And Overclocking hardare..

Just some questions:

1. Does anyone know of companies online other than www.hardwaregods.com and www.iceepc.com that modify cases for prometeia cooling systems ?

2. What's one of the main reasons a computer crashes other than heat when you overclock it. I'm running a prometeia cooling system with an amd 1.5 ghz (1800+) cpu, an abit nv7-133r motherboard, kingston value ram (512MB) 2100. At the moment I can't clock past 1700 ghz. My abit board doesn't allow me to raise the voltage in incriments like some... could that be the problem ?

I'd greatly appreciate input to one or more of my questions. Thx

imo, you could have spent your money on a 2100+ T-Bred B and some PC3500 RAM and a nforce 2 board and get a better overclock air cooled
you have a impressive cooling system(i'm dreaming to get one) but your hardware just ain't cutting it(in overclockability)

sounds like the system specs are holding ya bud. I would go with a new motherboard/ram combo before replacing the cpu though. Good luck with the prommy! I love mine. Tried the 8INXP and Corsair Twinx combo first but it didn't work so I threw in my backup Asus P4t533 and PC1066. 3.06 running at 3.7!

migon: its only 200 mhz on a vapor cooled system which should push cpus between 600 - 1000 over stock without a problem 🙂

Sheesh, some people.. I bet you critizising his system will really make his crashes less frequent..and MrGamer,: Yeah, right.

MrGamer, migon was referring to 1700 ghz 😉

Grakatt, I think you need to do a little more research on phase change cooling like the Prometeia and the Vapochill. It is not uncommon with one of those systems to acheive an extra 200-600mhz overclock on a CPU (about 400-1ghz over stock depending on P4 or AMD)

My recommendation, if you don't need a whole lot of features, get the 8RDA(non +), some nice TwinMos PC3200, and let it ride baby! Then either buy a 2100+ or 1700+ Tbred B.

A new system it is about to become. I just ordered the works. Lian-Li modded case for my prometeia, Corsair XMS 333Mhz 2CAS 2-2-2-5 DDR, a 2500+ barton, an asus nforce 2 mobo (forgot the model number but it's the deluxe one for $150).....um...that's all for now....thinking of going new vid card....but not ati since I ran into 9500pro trouble that didn't cease even after melting down and reforging my rig. Though....the 9700pro is now temping....especially power colors'....only 300 bucks new!..... there has to be slower onboard memory or something...I dunno....anyhow... Lets get ready to rumble! I'll report back in a week when I get all the components 🙂

get the +.. the soundstorm is definately worth the extra $10.. hell it's worth an extra $50...

prolly if you had a set of cheapo $5 speakers.. then fine..

oh yeah did you guys see the guy that got his barton at 3.4GHz? it whipped a P4 @ 4.6GHz 🙂 but that was at superpi, and everyone knows that athlon excels in math...
