that was some stacked coupons plus % discount. dell doesn't have them online anymore, you have to call in. and the Zs aren't available with systems. the ADA-995 is what is offered on systems.

Kevin, you could. I got mine from a Hot Deal's tip, but I dont see them there now except as this:

includes the new Logitech Z-560 4.1 surround sound speaker system, the Wingman Extreme Digital 3D Joystick and the Labtec Elite 840 headphones. $199

Just got some PM 5.1s and they are awesome. Haven't heard the Logitechs, but even if they are half as good they are a good buy.

Tell your friend to go to a store and listen to both sets first.

Do you smoke a lot of crack safety or is it just a weekend thing? I am wondering because you act like an idiot in every post you make.

$121.86 with tax...had them since November - haven't blown yet :D

As for wall mounting, yes - it's very easy. The speaker stand has a hex-head screw..using the included hex wrench, you remove the screw and switch the base around. I just put screws in the wall, and hung the speakers up. It works great.

How much real-world difference will there be between 4.1 and 5.1 though? The Z560's seem to be a great deal for the price, and to jump to comparable 5.1s will cost hundreds more. Is it really worth it? Considering I have $20 computer speakers now.... the jump will be good enough I think. :)

CadetLee, did you also get yours from Dell, or did you get them elsewhere, and, if so, where??

I have the Z-560's and I can't turn them up very much or I get noice complaints in my apartment building. They are loud enough and sound good enough for me. I can't imagine spending hundreds more just to get a different set of speakers that I can't turn up very high. Sure, they MIGHT be better, but It just seems like a big waste of money.

I bought the 5.1's because everyone said they kicked ass. I wasnt too happy with them when I got them. If there wasnt a 15% restocking fee I would have taken them back and bought the logitechs...with the extra cash I could set up a whole duron system or something more useful.

I agree. I have the klipsch promedias and they can't even begin to touch my NHT vt-1.4 towers. The Klipsh's are real nice for what they are but until you hear a real set of speakers, you have the wool over your eyes.

GMachine, and how much would it cost to remove this wool from my eyes? What did your "real" speakers set you back?

I have the Klipsch speakers (dual 2.1's) and I only have one of the subs and two of the small speakers set up because THEY ARE TOO LOUD.

Their speakers are better than you can imagine.

This is what I have (two sets) and the single set is too loud, crisp, clear,...

And they are only $179

So basically this last post is saying that 2.1 is enough, let alone 4.1 or even 5.1? Anyone agree?

Well I got the Z560s and I really like them, too bad I live in an apartment and have to keep them at respectable levels. Having the rear speakers is great for the movies though, it's amazing how much is back there in some movies--Star Wars was pretty good for the few scenes that I watched.
