ProMedia 5.1 Problem

I've had these speakers a little over a week, and was just listening to some mp3s at volume level 70. Seems to be playing fine, but after a minute the room started smellling like melting plastic. Does anyone know what can be causing this? I have them off for now because I dont want any further damage to occur if thats whats happening.

was there a good 6 inches around all edges of the sub? just a thought as that puppy can get quite hot (even tho it is ok). also, it might just be "breaking itself in" if you can listen to stuff fine now.
