Proliferation of internet slang?

I just heard my sister, who is NOT a gamer, and DOESN'T talk to gamers say, "This show roxxorz my soxxorz." just like that, clearly with the oxxorz.

Is this a derivation of internet slang? That is, the original "Roxxorz my boxxorz"? If so, I wonder how we're affecting contemporary language? Will people soon be saying lol or "roffle"?

Scary thought... I'd almost rather have 1984 :/

I say OWNED a lot, and I say sigh when I'm sighing.

But I'm talking about full-out purepwnage type slang...

Wow...

Well, I guess a lot of ATOT-ers are about to be hired for their language skills 😉

i say "double-you-tee-eff" and "pawned" one time i almost let internet lingo slip during an interview

I use "double-you-tee-eff", owned, and pawned regularly, with the occasional "roffle". I hear alot of people say "stoo-foo" though .

Me and my friends use: lol (pronounced "lole"), "brb" (bee are bee), "wtf" (double-u tee eff), stfu (ess tee eff u), pwned (powned), owned, n00b (n00b)

It started off as a joke, but now it's just taken over.

THe other day I was watching tv with my 8 yr old brother. He gets up, says "Bee-Are-Bee" and goes to the bathroom. I couldn't stop laughing for a good 5 minutes. Then I told my 14yr old brother, and he began laughing too.

Me too... lol

I don't say any of those. If I did, my friends and family would beat me with power cords.

And they'd be right to do it.

I think everyone uses net slang now regardless if they play games or not, although gamers are just more advanced.

Me personally, being a gamer for many years, I use terms in my day to day conversations with people. For example:

Feel off my bike...friend said I got gg'd.

Friend tries to pick up girl at club and gets blown off...I tell him he's pwnedd !!!

See someone doing something stupid/dumb, call them noobs and peons.

The only thing that's annoying is when I meet new people and use slang, they kinda go like wtf? Usually they ask what it means and I explain it to them, and the funny thing is they take it as a serious definition, not knowing it's just online gaming babble. After they hang around me for a few months, they starting using it themselves...it's soo cool 🙂

One of my buddies will be talking on msn or something, and he will say "Ha, roffles" or rolf, I guess he means ROFL.
