anybody have a big projector and play games on it? I'm wondering if the refresh is fast enough to make them playable, how is the picture quality, etc. Any recommended models?

I played a few games when I had access to this Infocus (??) projector that did 800x600 max. There's some definite blurring in high FPS games but otherwise, it's a really neat experience to be able to play on a huge screen.

Go for high lumens, and if you've got the money for it, high resolutions cause the pixelation gets pretty annoying.
 
I've played Wolfenstein and Gran Turismo 3 on an 8x10 screen using a projector.

These were some pretty good conference room projectors at 1024x768.
