Projector for Left4Dead

I'm going to buy an XBox360 so me and all my roommates can play Left4Dead when it comes out, and my other roommate is going to buy a projector. We all need to be able to see pretty well, so I think the projector should be as high resolution as possible, but it seems like any projector like that is $2k+.

What do you guys recommend?
 
Get a good TV rather then a projector. If you find a good resolution projector you'll also have to get a really good projection screen to help support that nice resolution. You'll also need a room where you can maintain full control over the lighting. If you have windows in the room you'll want to back those out to get the most out of the projector. So your better off with a good size plasma screen.
 
Well regaurdless the LCD or plasma will give you a better image then any sub $2k projector can. You also have to consider that a projector bulb is very exspencive and don't last very long to start with. Using the projectors your looking at are great for uses here and there for pesentations. But long term use like heavy consol gaming will shorten the life fo the bulb. You don't want to be replacing that every 6 months or so. Also consider that the projection image starts to fade twards the outer edges.
 
Just don't exspect TV like quality. Projectors are better for veiwing at a distance. So bedroom or small apartment living room may not be well suited for projector use. But you won't know till you get it and try it.
