MORE BULLSHIT:
1. O'keefe tried setting up reporters once again.
2. Woman in question seems to work for him.
3. The lies are coming out faster than they do at the White House.

Now that would be truely impressive

Make sure you take advantage of the Amazon Prime deal (I'm just going to assume that nearly anyone here has prime):

https://www.washingtonpost.com/pr/w...gital-access-to-the-washington-post-for-free/

https://www.amazon.com/The-Washington-Post-Digital-Access/dp/B072MHQFJ1

Viper GTS

Just a note on this, you can also share access with another person. So if you've another person in the house you can add them to this account and they get all the same level of access to the post. At $1.99 a person it's an amazing deal.

A few people on the socials have made an important point: this wasn't just about trying to discredit WaPo. In some ways, it's about trying to discredit many women who come forward about sexual assault/harassment.

Of course, that's particularly important for American conservatives at the moment, since they need to justify their support for a serving President who has committed sexual assault (and possibly rape) and issued a non-apology for it.

Yes, this is in the same vein as Trump calling his accusers liars and threatening to sue after the election (he hasn't, and won't.) Doubling down on despicable behavior.

Subbed to WAPO. Thanks @Viper GTS

O'Keefe comes off like Bill Paxton's character from True Lies. Slimy skeezeball that wants to play at being a spy. Of course he's a pants-pissing chickenshit moron, so he tries to rope others into doing it for him, and they reveal they're incompetent with regards to it as well (because undoubtedly just about anyone else can see through him and don't want to end up charged with crimes so he's left with the dumbest of the dumb shits). But he's found a group of even slimier chickenshits in modern Conservative media to bankroll him. Can't wait to see how he ends up burning them with his stupidity, or they turn on him and scapegoat him to try and save their own skins when they start getting involved with shit that they won't be able to get out of.

Yep.

To remind people what a failure at life and complete loser O'Keefe has always been:

https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2016/05/30/james-okeefe-accidentally-stings-himself

He never could get invited to the big boy tables of life that he so so desperately craved, so instead he just pouted and got mad, blamed his uselessness on those elites that so cravenly wounded him, and set about to "sting them" in the way that you can only imagine an incompetent loser like O'Keefe would: complete failure.

Presents an interesting insight into today's right wing psychology. Its an amazingly dumb plot, but that is rooted in their belief. They believe that this shit would totally work because of what they already think about "liberal media" and other boogymen. Knowing lies are an example of poor ethics, unknowing lies are cognitive dissonance. So, once again, the threat is unmasked.

So, when Moore said a few weeks ago that the "reason" for the accusations and story would come out "soon"... I wonder if the WaPo could sue Veritas for fraud? Could a DA charge them with attempting to perpetrate a public fraud? What if it could be proved that Moore's campaign or someone else paid them to do it? Does that rise to the level of a criminal conspiracy to commit fraud?

Veritas has probably taken a bunch of legal advice before setting these things up (or they could be that stupid). If Phillips was coming down from New York to the DC area for the interviews, the closest drive for her would have been the Maryland suburbs, Westfield Wheaton or the Columbia Mall or something. But it was carefully arranged for Tysons Corner and Alexandria. And I am guessing that's because Maryland is one of the handful of two-party consent states for audio recordings and publishing their sting could have gotten them sued for wiretapping.

Unfortunately, lying is generally legal unless you're doing it under oath (and other limited exceptions.) However, to the extent that Moore was claiming his accusers had been paid to lie, it's possible the accusers could have a defamation law suit against him.

It's worse, because they believe that the people on the other side are the dumb ones.

I don't think they really do. They definitely know they're only fleecing one side. Now, certainly they think the other side is revealing their bullshit, not through you know, just basic levels of reasoning and investigation or research, but because they're doing the exact same thing (assuming the other side is lying about everything so just call them out as though everything is a lie/attack and you'll be right some of the time). So to them, its just escalating it and they think they can win by outbullshitting the other side.

Hell the main reason why conservatives are enabling this moron is that their desire is just to cause "the Left" to waste so much time dealing with the bullshit he spews that it means less time they can spend on doing their own goals.

It will be just a matter of time before this jackass bullshits himself into a situation he can't get Republicans to cover for him on. Now, that should have already happened multiple times, so he's gotten lucky that there are so many Conservatives willing to be even bigger pieces of shit than he is, but its just a matter of time. In the mean time keep laughing at this dumb shit. He's like a gutless version of Richard Spencer, he doesn't even stand for anything in actuality, he's just hoping to try and twist other peoples' words against them to curry favor with other people. Conservatives better be careful, because chances are once his usefulness to them dries up and they dump him, possibly after he embarrasses them in a high profile situation, he'll try to do the same thing to them. Hell, I'm willing to bet he's already been involved in stuff used against other Republicans, probably unknowingly because this guy is such a moron that he doesn't even realize he's being used and is just a lapdog for Bannon to stir shit up.

Yeah that’s what I don’t get. He had to know they had all the tape. The only thing that makes sense to me is that he has such total contempt for the intelligence of his audience that he thinks they will believe him regardless.
you assume he's intelligent enough to have contempt for others. based on how incompetent his organization seems to be, i'm coming to doubt that's the case.

Human genetics hasn't changed significantly over the last several thousand years, yet it seems that we've seen more collective foolishness these last few years than in my lifetime. It's like brains were shut off entirely.

I hate to say it, but it's the internet. It got worse with the advent of right-wing radio. But it really exploded when they transferred that propaganda technique to the web.

I have many ideas on how to fix it. the first of which is banning internet anonymity. One must have a valid internet ID to participate and be held responsible IRL for their words online.

Well, to be fair, we too have total contempt for the intelligence of his audience.

He's been smart enough to make a career off of it tho.

Wouldn't life be grand to harness taji dopiness and convert it to mortgage payments?

You act like that's a new thing for them? This is something they've done for decades, and they used to do it directly instead of try to hire goblins like O'Keefe, so they're definitely getting onboard the cuck train.
