Programs that may behave differently in Windows XP Service Pack 2...

my nero still isnt the same... he's still shook up a bit... the next 24 hours are going to be touch and go...

edit: nero 6 is functional with the latest updates installed. its just when i try to remove the 2 second gap between tracks, it freezes up the program. it did it fine the first time i attempted to burn a cd after the sp2 update, but now it keeps repeating, even after rebooting. i uninstalled, tried to use it, worked fine, reinstalled sp2, problem returned. havent seen other documentation about it either, could be isolated. but i can use nero express to burn cd's w/o the 2 second gap, so no worries.

Great. Attachmate doesn't work. Only 10,000 odd pc's at work need that. I wonder if anyone will install it.

freaking STARCRAFT doesn't work?? and the citrix ICA client? man there's going to be some pissed off folks

😕 diskkeeper 8 and nero 6 are working fine for me...

EDIT: oh, behave differently, not "not work" nevermind

a lot of it seems to be related to the firewall they had to include to keep n00bs from spreading mass viruses. disable that and your programs should be fine.

I'm sure the starcraft problem is related to battle.net and the new firewall thing in sp2.

yes and it sucked, they made the new one beter, but it still actually sucks

Sweet Brigid, people, these are not programs that are broken. They're just ones that MIGHT behave differently. MS didn't break everything.

Riiiight.

I have an ass load of apps loaded on my machine and have been running SP2 with only one problem, my USB pen doesn't work. That is about it. NAV2003, nero and all my other stuff work perfect. I love the built in pop-up blocker in IE...although I uses Firefox 98% of the time. 😉

Apparently your spell-checker is broken as well.

actually i uninstalled it just to piss you all off

Looks like a PITA, and pretty Buggy if you ask me.

Think I'll skip SP2.

I have Norton Internet security, and since it looks like the main biggie in SP2 is security related installing it probably wouldn't do much for me anyway...

Well except screw things up.
