programs not starting

machine specs

windows 7 32 bit
athlone phenom II quad core
amd 5770 graphics card
Ssd 30gb intel V as my boot drive
2tb seagate as my main drive

well basically this is what happens....i boot up machine click on connect to internet and usually it opens but then if i click onto another program can be anything from a game to firefox and nothing happens i go into task manager and it will show the program (but only using 60 odd kb)

after this nothing will work like if i right click a file this loading symbol pops and nothing happens.After several reboots though will usually work ok

i had a look online and did the run program as administrator but still the same problem

anyone any ideas ?

(oh should says its a fairly new hardrive and windows install)

Have you run any anti-virus scans lately? Executables failing to load is a telltale sign of a virus.

yeah run several and nothing has come up

oh another problem i am having when downloading stuff via internet explorer has a annoyinh habit of stopping at 99%

I don't know if this will help you or not, but I had a very similar issue. I had my programs not wanting to show up on the screen and launch also. The microsoft ones would work such as media player and ie etc. However other programs would not show on the screen but did in the memory. I had recently installed one of those cheap .99 cent bluetooth radios that I'd gotten off ebay, and while it was active and the drivers installed for it, nothing else would work. Uninstalling it fixed my issues, so if you have any hardware or changes you have made try to trace back and undo them.
