Hey guys and gals,

I have this system that wants to be a pain in the A$$..... Athlon XP 1600, Gigabyte Mobo, 640 MB DDR PC2100 RAM, ATI 32 MB Video Card, Sound Blaster Live 5.1 Sound card, 40 GB Hard Drive. Windows 2000 Pro.

First of all, Anytime I am on the machine and running like IE or any other program or game they will shut off instantly. It does this randomly. No error warnings or anything. They just cut off and go right back to the desktop. Seems like a RAM problem....

Second, Anytime I play music or watch movies, or play any type of game. It seems like it hangs up randomly. The computer will freeze and the sound; sounds like a REALLY fast drum beat for about 2 seconds or more. Then it continues on. Almost like it gets hung. It's REALLY annoying. I've tried the RAM one piece at a time. Still does everything described above. Is this an overheating problem. I have never seen anything like this before, and I'm A+ Certified...... WTF?
