Programming hotkey buttons at top of (COMPAQ) keyboard to work with winamp

topic title says it all.
i can program my top middle buttons (internet buttons) to go to any website that i choose. i have a play/pause, previous, next, stop, eject button that work only with windows media player and cds.
i know there's a way that i can program the buttons to work in winamp, i tried searching for plugins but the best one i could find wouldn't work in xp.
any help appreciated here. thanks.
