Programming for PocketPC

My boss recently asked me to look into creating a small database program for use in the field for data collection. I haven't really had time to do much research on it so I thought I'd see if anyone here has any experience.

I'm a fairly good Access programmer and was wondering if that could translate to a PocketPC? I know there is Pocket Access but don't know about the programability of it.
