Programming architecture / Scheduling appointments...

Hi all,

I have an application that I'm ready to redo... it's main purpose is for scheduling appointments & managing representative working/appointment times.

Right now, there are several things that I'm not satisfied with - management of the nodes of reoccuring appointments, modification of reoccuring appointments, the way staff available v. reserved time is handled, extension of the current 'window' of time available to the system, etc.

I'm wondering if there are any standard/accepted architecture models out there for this sort of problem - handling available time, setting up and modifying reoccuring appointments, etc.

Just looking for a fresh/different view to give me some ideas...

Thx,
