Programatically discover installations of MS Office

I need to audit how many copies of OFFICE my company has installed to ensure that our licensing is up to par.

Anybody have any thoughts how I can do that with software? I have 9 sites over 100 miles and 1200 users, so I would like to avoid SneakerNetting my way around.

Sending emails asking people if they have it isn't good enough.

Thanks

Can you just run through the list of PC IP's and check each one's registry or something? I don't know Windows programming, but I assume an Administrator would be able to do this. I assume you searched Microsoft's site for any tips/tools.

Sure easy enough. Do you need to find out what version it is, or just simply having any install of Office will suffice?

I will write you a script. PM me please.
