program to hide taskbar icon

does anyone know any program that i can to to hide my taskbar icons?

Hide them from the taskbar or from the system tray? Traymin will minimize any program to the system tray, but I don't know about hiding tray icons.

hide from system tray i mean. the icons on the bottom right of the screen

If you can't find an app to do it, you can get rid of them by editing the registry, you will find your sys tray information in either:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
or
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

The program i have startup when windows bootup. If i edit the registry, would the program still start up on startup?

I havent had any problems doing it that way ( that is not to say the possibility doesnt exist ), so, I found Tray Saver for you. It should do what you want it to do.
I know it says NT 4, but it should work fine in 2000. (You didnt say what OS you were running)
