Hi there, is there such a program? I have Rambooster, but have heard that it just chucks the stuff into Virtual memory, so anyone got any good programs that they would recommend?

From a hardware point of view, there is always some RAM somewhere being used by the OS as well as resident apps. The only way I know to clear RAM completely is to use the Shutdown procedure and turn it off.

In this day of ultra-cheap RAM, programs such as Ramboost are really not of much use. It is better to add more real memory and not diddle with the virtual.

Try Cachemem. Do a Google and download it. I've read reviews it's only one that really works.

Agree to the fact that RAM prices are cuttently biting dust, it's the best time to upgrade your RAM. But if you still must, you can try our Rampage or even Cacheman 5.0. Both are available for free download from www.cnet.download.com.

Use Mem Turbo Proffesional. It let's you defrag RAM and clear programs out that don't need to be running... plus it tells you how much ram you have available in your taskbar!
