Don't you have a fader option on your speakers, or in your drivers/included software? I have both a fader option and a sound direction modifier that was included on a CD. You could always try that.

I do.... but there are limitations, hence the point of this thread. I'm trying to get more bass out of my speakers, but the volume adjust knob adjusts the fronts and the sub simultaneously... this is with the sub level already as high as it can go :(

your speakers won't produce more bass.. the sub is designed to handle the bass in the system, and the only way to do that is if it gets the signal.. which it does by filtering out all the bass from the speakers it powers. and there's also a physical limitation on how much bass a speaker can produce given it's size.. which is why bose's tiny little speakers do such a horrible job at producing the lower range that the sub can't handle.

If you're using a creative card, there is a setting in the drivers to adjust volume. I don't remember exactly where it's found though. If your using onboard, I guess check the software that came with your motherboard carefully, there should be some way to change volume there.
