Uninstalled Adobe Reader using Your Uninstaller so I could take advantage of it's most thorough uninstall. Installed FoxIt rejecting any optional extras. Have opened several WordPerfect published pdf files and so far no amomalies. Hope that fixes the problem.

Thanks for the help

No problem with FoxIt so far, but a question. I am accustomed to being able to place the mouse cursor over the bar to the right of the display and by holding down the mouse button scroll the displayed page up and down. So far I haven't been able to figure out how to do that in FoxIt. I can click on the vacant space and step the page up and down -- but not nearly so useful as being able to drag(scroll) it.

Not sure if I follow. I just use the scroll on the mouse to go up and down through pages. Or I can click the scroll wheel and use movements of the mouse to scroll.

Thanks. I use a Microsoft mouse with cursor wheel -- but had never had occasion to click it before. Works the way I expect now. Downloaded the 202 page manual for FoxIt with the thought -- If all else fails, read the manual.

Just discovered an anomaly that unless I can figure out why it is happening may force me to give up on FoxIt. I am in the final stages of preparing camera ready copy for a journal that accepts text in pdf format. All equations, figures, footnotes etc. must be set in camera ready copy. It is customary in mathematical text to italicize a term when it is first introduced and explained. Adobe Reader correctly shows the italicized text. FoxIt working from the same file does not. Maybe that is covered in those 202 pages -- but can't imagine a reader that doesn't display italics.

Thanks. The citation you found may have saved me a lot of wasted time. It says:

"The bold and italic functions are available for default font Helvetica, so if you want to do this, please choose Helvetica as the font."

The three journals I most often publish in specify "Times Roman font 10pt. Page size 4.5 x 7.125 inches"

Looks like I can't prepare camera ready copy for them using FoxIt

The fact that my manuscript is in Times Roman probably explains why the italics were lost when the file was opened by FoxIt
