Hey,

Does anyone know of a freeware program that monitors/logs the files and registry entries that are installed on one's system when installing a program? Or is there a Windows XP functionality that does this already that is accessible?

Thanks

There are good HIPS programs which will provide excellent program installation logging and will alert you whenever any non-trusted application attempts to run. Google HIPS.

A recommended free solution would be Online Armor Free, which combines an excellent Firewall/HIPS combo.

Comodo also offers a good firewall/HIPS, but I think you'll Online Armor easier to understand and use.

There are also free dedicated registry monitors, but I can't offer a recommendation. Google 'registry monitor'.

Hope this helps!
