is there a program for win2k that does like winxp and lets me arrange icons on the desktop myself, but uses a grid to keep them tidy? also is there a program to let me do that in folders?

On the desktop, if i remember correctly, you can uncheck "Arrange Icons Automatically", and move them around to where you want them, then right click on the desktop, and go to "Line Up Icons"

As for in the folders, I'm not sure of anything to do that 🙂

Confused

hey that's great especially since it works in folders! thanks. only problem is that unlike xp, it won't lock the positions. any idea how to do that?

The above works, but does not allow for "creative" arrangements that can be locked and "remembered." This utility is pretty good - it works for me.
