So I sent my fiancee some flowers for her birthday from ProFlowers. I've ordered from them a couple times before and had good experiences. This time, however, some of the heads of the flower (the actual flower, right where the stem ends) had broken off. English = part of her bouquet was broken. So I just called ProFlowers to get my order fixed. The menu was easy to use - place an order, help with an order in the US, and international orders, I think were the options. I got someone on the phone almost immediantly and told them my problem and gave them my order number. They are sending a new set of flowers out Thursday. Just like that. Took about a minute from picking up the phone to putting it back down. Wow. Now that's service! These guys definately have my business from now on. Here's their website:

I had a bad experience with 1800flowers.com this past Christmas. I ordered her some flowers for Christmas Eve, since she wasn't flying out till a couple days after Christmas. The flowers never arrived. I figured there was probably just a delay, so I gave them a couple days, no big deal. Still no word, so I called 1800flowers and they said there had been a snowstorm and all of the planes were delayed. I said no problem, but she wouldn't be there to get them, and could they send them to my house the next Monday instead. No problem, they'd ship me some new flowers at my own address. Problem solved...or was it? A few days later, the flowers arrived at her house, very much dead. Monday came and went with no sign of flowers at my house. I think I called 1800flowers that Wednesday (gave them some time, figured it was just another snow delay). Dunno what happened, but I never got the flowers at my place, and the only flowers that were shipped were the dead ones to her house a week or so after I had ordered them. I ended up getting my money refunded.

Cliff's:
I like ProFlowers instead of 1800flowers now.

I used to swear by Proflowers, but after having declining service and a horrible Valentine's exeprience, I have sworn them off.

VeggieFrog sent me flowers for Mother's Day from 1800flowers... they arrived on the right day, but even though I was home, they never knocked on the door... they just left them outside... and the flowers were old and wilted....

I sent an email to 1800flowers telling them about it and said that I was not gonna tell my daughter as I did not want her to feel bad about how disappointing they were.... they refunded 50% off the order and sent me a gift certificate for $30.00 of my next purchase. They sent her a $30.00 coupon as well.

But i was just reading somewhere that florists dont like these florist brokers... it is the florists who do all the work, and these brokers just take a huge cut... they were saying how ppl should just call the florists direct, who would deal with it themselves.

🙂

Yeah, that's what my mom was saying...she was like, just called a local florist. Do most local florists delivery, and is there a directory of them somewhere?

You can't beat a local florist, I usually hit up the FTD site and pick what I want, find a florist, then call in the order

Proflowers has good service, they have replaced flowers at no cost before when they didn't last but a few days. However I must say it seems 1800flowers sells better ones, the ones I have sent from proflowers have never lasted very long, the ones I have sent from 1800flowers lasted much longer.
