An Israeli Knesset member from Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's ruling Likud party has described all Arabs as worms in a parliamentary debate.


Yehiel Hazan, parliamentary leader of the biggest lobby group for Jewish colonists illegally settling in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip, said on Monday:

"The Arabs are worms. You find them everywhere like worms, underground as well as above."

Hazan continued: "Until we understand that we're doing business with a nation of assassins and terrorists who don't want us here, there will be no let up. These worms have not stopped attacking Jews for a century."

Gee, members of the Israeli government describing Arabs as a genetic defect and worms. I wonder what will the Arabs think of that! :roll:

Uh, are you that blind to the fact that almost daily in the Arab newspapers Jews are labeled as monsters and rats. There are fictional stories in those newspapers about how Jews will take the Arab children and drink their blood.

This is common among Arab society.

So enough with your hypocrisy.

I'm not denying anything, but you seem to back these fasicists statements! I guess these are common among Israeli society.

No, these things are not found in Israeli newspapers the way stereotypical and to be blunt, derogatory stories are found in Arab newspapers. This is a member of the Likud Party who said that. It's a extreme right wing party. This is very atypical. I agree that it's really shameful that he said it, especially since he is a politician, but this is extremely rare.

What is said of Jews in the Arab press is the norm.

Raildogg comparing a government official to a newspaper is very low. You and many others in this forum claim that Israeli Arabs have rights! Well why are these officials still in their posts, Pro-Israelis claim that Israel is very fond of racisms you know in a ?democracy? the minorities are not to be subjected, and that their rights are to be respected. Imaging if some official in US government would call African Americans ?Worms? or ?they have a genetic defect?, what would happen to him! The Deputy Defense Minister Ze'ev Boim and MP Yehiel Hazan got away to easily with this one without punishment. :thumbsdown:

In a sense, Raildogg is right. Arab newspapers are very harsh with Israel/Jewish people in general. They think everything bad that happens to them involves Israel. Anyone remember when the tsunami happened? The Arab newspapers blamed the US, India and Israel for it.
