Um this is strange because? Everyone knows that if you have power, you get the girls. This is real life, not some fantasy utopia.

Seriously, this shit has been going on since the beginning of time. The only surprising thing is he told you about it, but then again he's banging all this hot college girls and can't brag to anyone he works with and then you show up.

Why is it illegal to sleep your way to good grades? It certainly is not illegal to sleep your way to the top of companies. He is teaching her what she needs to know to succeed.

Nobody said it was illegal (well, you could maybe make an argument for it being prostitution, but that's a pretty big stretch IMO), just unprofessional and unethical.

Professionalism and ethics mean different things to different people. PSA, never tell the head of a department he is unprofessional, unethical and, a sleaze unless you plan on changing schools. 🙂

I believe it in a heartbeat. A research professor in my department was fired three years ago for sleeping with his students.

How would you feel if your coworker sleep with your boss and got the promotion both of you were aiming for? Or your schoolmate got an A in the class while you got a B, not because she studied harder but because she slept with the professor?

What if it's not a sexual favor but money/bribe and she got higher grade because she could afford it?

Wouldn't you feel cheated? What's the incentive for you to work/study harder knowing that others cheated their way into success?
You might lost the drive to work harder or might even start to cheat.

What is all this "what if" business? That shit also happens all the time. Many of those things are illegal, yet they STILL happen all the time. My incentive to work and study harder? I don't have the money or the valuable pussy to trade so I don't have any choice. I have to to do it the hard way!

Also of note, the trading sex for grades thing is one thing but a solid slice of the female populace ends up with a crush on any given professor that isn't completely hideous anyway. I know there were a number of female professors when I went to college that I would have slept with with no need to increase my grade to will me to do it. A few of them I would have taken a grade hit in exchange for the opportunity!

Well, this is why it's unlikely for the Professor in the OP's story to brag about it.

Within 15 minutes of meeting this 30ish lady at a party a couple of years ago she said "I don't know why I'm telling you this but..."

People trust me.
