Professor Attacked For Insulting Islam

A French professor who insulted Islam was attacked by one of his Muslim students for not respecting Islam. The student assaulted the professor and even kicked him on the chin.

Eventually these attacks are going to become more common. Radical Islam is spreading through Europe and it will only get worse.

The student should be kicked out of the school and face charges, assaulting a professor is unacceptable behavior and professors need to speak out the truth more often

Do you agree that the student was wrong for attacking the professor and should face charges with removal from the school?

Anyhow, the student was sentenced to 1 year suspended prison sentence and banned from going to college there any longer.

The banning and prison is good but these kind of attacks could become more common and France and the other countries must take proper steps to prevent this from happening.

This attack and similar ones are the failures of multiculturalism and political correctness. Minorities aren't allowed to be criticized and the ones that do are labelled racist

I realize it's not realistic, nor is it going to happen. Nonetheless I believe it may be the only thing which would save western civilization.

My father's family is originally from Louisiana and I have a number of relatives in Texas. I have no love for American fundamentalist Christians, but to pretend that they're in any way comparable to Muslims is absurd.

I have no use for Christianity, and I've never liked the south.

Nonetheless, this doesn't prevent me from freely and easily acknowledging that fundamentalist American Christians in the south are not even a fraction as fanatical or violent or dangerous as fundamentalist Muslims.

What's more, fundamentalist Muslims comprise a MUCH larger percentage of their religion than do fundamentalist Christians.

I highly recommend nehalem256 and Nemesis 1. Incorruptible at least puts some work in his stupidity and trolling, making him some use in the study of conservatard self-delusion. Nemesis and nehalem, however, do nothing but post random brain farts that neither is capable of even beginning to challenge, making their posts nothing but boring, repetitive trolling. And Nemesis' writing is horrible.
 
Yes i think radical Islam will be a problem in Europe and eventually the US as the numbers continue to grow. The western secular world and fundemental Islam do not live well together. I believe Europe will eventually kick out all muslims due to not assimilating peacefully into the culture or showing much respect for others and the laws of the land they chose to live in.

Bingo. Not all Muslims are extremists, but views that we could consider extreme or fundamentalist are much more mainstream in lslam than a lot of people would like to believe. In Islam it's the moderates who are actually on the fringe.

I have and I am an atheist. I have had plenty of debates with hardcore Christians and none of them turned violent, heated yes but never ever violent. Not that there aren't a few nutcases out there that might but they should be given the exact same treatment.

I'll take that as a No then. Not curious about your family, just you.

I'm not trying to draw equivalency here, merely wondering why you dismiss the notion of violence outright from incensed christians. We're not talking about beheadings and bombings of fundies, we're talking about assault over religious sensitivities.

There was a time when I truly believed my mother and other church folk that violence was anathema to today's christians. That notion evaporated quickly at the beginning of a 5 year stay in the Florida Panhandle.

Just curious....

There are no cities in Europe that even come close to the violence and murder that go on in the US
There are 4 US cities that are considered the most dangerous in the world.
Imagine that... more people end up dead because of violence then any city in Iraq, Afghanistan or Pakistan.
