I don't remember there being one... maybe I never tried to put ****** or ****** in a post before. It always been like this, or is there an option I can turn on/off?

It has not always been like that, it used to give you an annoying error when you had a blocked word in your post, and it wasn't always obvious what the word was (i.e. stab)

No, it is not an option you can turn off.

I *hate* that it substitutes every word with 5 asterisks. It should match the number of asterisks to the number of letters in the original word. It'd make it easier to guess what people meant to say in the first place.

I think it used to be 5, but it seems they changed it to 6 😕
