Production 2009 Honda Pilot Spied

I'm usually the last person to exclaim that a new car looks like some other car.. but I definitely see design cues from Ford and Toyota in the front, Jeep in the rear, and Chevy on the sides.
 
Where's the :vomit; emoticon when you need it?

Highlander & Vera Cruz, and CX9 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Pilot when it comes to looks.

Did they pick up the scraps from the Nissan Pathfinder and Ford Escape design waste bin?
 
Looks fine, but they have got to get a new grille. Also, the lights need to be revised. The back reminds me of a Dodge Durango.....or was it a Caravan =.=. The interior is just horrible. What happened to the "futuristic" styling of the Civic?!
 
I am unimpressed at best, discouraged at worst. What is Honda thinking? That thing is getting progressively uglier and with gas prices rising 1 to 3% per week a vehicle like this will soon be considered a dinosaur.
 
the grill is horrific, the sides and and rear are boring (though not as yawn-inducing as the highlander, wtf is with toyota and their battleship look nowadays?), and the dash... my god did a 3 year old design it?

Doesn't look that bad, but definitely worse than the outgoing generation of Pilot.

Why have Honda/Acura vehicles been getting progessively uglier since the late 1990s and early 2000s? First the Accord, then the TSX, now the Pilot...
 
I like this design. It's a goddam truck, not a chick wagon. It's supposed to look boxy and have lots of room inside.

My only quibble is with the clear plastic blue trim on the center stack. It looks out of place.

Seriously, I've always preferred the of the Edge / MKX far over the Honda Pilot and CRV and the Acura MDX in perfomance, feel, and appearance.
