Processor usage measured with system monitor???

When idle, processor usage is at 90%....can anyone explain this to me???
There are no programs running at the background. The only thing I changed were some bios settings regarding the PCI settings and I changed my parrallelport settings to epp.

AMD T-Bird 900 Mhz. not o/c-ed
Abit KT7 RAID
128 MB PC133

It's the idle thread. Get Wintop and you'll see.

Uhhh...what's the idle thread??? Cause since I detected my processor usage is so high my cpu temp is now 48 C instead of 38 which it used to be...
