processor upgrade on a hp pavilion xe734??

HOw can I find out if I can upgrade the processor on my hp pavilion xe734? I have been on their website without any luck. The motherboard is unbranded. any ideas at all would be appreciated. It now has a celeron 600 and I have a celeron 1000. If I try it will it hurt anything??

Dude, if it fits, it will work. Intel made so many types of processors in that time period, who knows? You can look both of them up on the Intel website, if you want, since you have both of them with you. You'll just need to write down all of the numbers from both of them, so you can identify them, and make sure that they are both ppga, or whatever.
