Processor Sounds Coming Through Speakers

Do processors even make sounds?

Anyway, this is the problem: Whenever I do anything; cilck, drag, open My Computer, scroll a webpage using the wheelmouse, the sound of things being processed come through my Z640 speakers. Just little tiny dots of sound, depending on the action. The half second it takes My Computer to open, there'll be a long series of a thousand tiny "dit" sounds coming through the speakers. No sound can be heard if the speakers are turned off or if I plug headphones into the center speaker.

Is this a problem anyone else has ever had? Is it something I should be concerned about?

Windows XP SP2, Athlon 64 3000+, Chaintech VNF-3 Motherboard (built-in sound card) - What am I forgetting?

I took a screenshot of my device manager because I saw "C-Media AC97 Audio Device" and "Legacy Audio Drivers" which sound like two different sound card drivers. I'm grasping, but I really have no idea what could be causing this. I've checked connections a million times. Anyway! Thanks in advance for the help.

Ya, you would want to uninstall one of those drivers. I recommend ditching the Legacy. You can do so through device manager - just find your audio.

Do you have any audio cables plugged into headers on the mb (port brackets, cd audio, etc.)? If so, check that they are not toughing cards, ram, etc.. Possibly re-routing them might move them away from interference.

There is interference (I think from the hard drive) (but might be from other components). Try moving the cables so as to go right out from the computer for a foot or a bit more.

And leave alone the Legacy Audio Drivers - if I remember correctly, those are the "Sound Blaster" simulation for your sound card (or something)
