I just built a new system today (Althon 2400+, Asus A7N8X-deluxe, etc) , runs great.
Anyway, my old system is, a Althon 750, which I didn't change, except for removing the new vid card I put in it (ATI 8500) and putting back in the old GF2MX (it doesn't seem to gen. much heat at all).
Well, now today, I'm trying to do a fresh install of XP on the old system, and even while trying to install Windows (or even just left in prompt for a while), the cpu heat alarm goes on, and I have to restart or it will do it for me (for good reason ofcourse.)
I checked , the power and cpu fan are still operating normally, could there be anything else I could check?
Thanks
