processor intensive task - ivy or wait for haswell?

If the software you use takes full advantage of multiple threads SB-E will be faster than the IB CPUs releasing shortly. Unless you plan to wait for IB-E later this year.
 
Wait for Haswell. It will have double the peak processing power per core.

If Haswell will "double" peak processing power per core with an amazingly modest die size increase, why didn't we see this in SNB or IVB? Does implementing FMA/AVX2/etc. require a fundamental change in how the CPU is designed, or do you suspect these are just "tack-ons" to the SNB uarch?

I can't afford to wait any longer. I'm on woodcrest xeons and while they have served me well they feel slow now. Mostly because I keep updating my software 😀
