Greetings, I'm new here and don't know where to begin to look for what I need.

How does the AMD-K6 3D processor compare to a Pentium?
Can I upgrade my Comaq Presario 5152 processor?
If so, how and with which processor?

Appreciate all help in this area! :)

Firstyl, brand-name socket 7 PCs don't like CPU upgrades. Secondly, even if you put the fastest socket 7 CPU available it will still be slow as hell by today standards.

You probably want to build a new PC.

QFT.

Depending on what your budget is and what you expect your future computer to be able to accomplish, you can get new computers starting at $200 at Fry's Electronics that will run circles around the best that you can upgrade your Compaq to.

Hi Zap,
Not sure what QFT means, but as to my budget, it's nil this month. (I'm on disability, so I don't have much to begin with in any case.)

However, the point may be mute as I found out earlier tonight my buddy is getting a new Gateway and may be passing down his old computer to me, which is a Pentium 3. If he does, I'll use my Compaq in my home network, replacing the old 486 I have and use to hold extra files etcetera.

That doesn't mean I have no interest in knowing about Frey's Electronics. Do you have more info regarding that?

BTW: Thanks for replying! :)

PS: What is this "heatware" signature?
